In ancient times, the territory of this lake was inhabited by the Kazakhs of the middle zhuz of the clan – Sadyr.<\/p>\n
According to legend, the lake “Sadyrkol” roamed the shaitan (devil) on the ground. Looking on the shore of the lake, just above the cliff, lies a beardless man Aldar-Kose (“a beardless deceiver” character of the Kazakh epic). One would think that the dead man, only from snoring the coastal bushes bend, as from the wind. “Well, if alive – grinning shaitan rubbed his paws – so now it will be dead.” He crept up on tiptoe to the sleeping man and pushed him off the cliff.
