Today, in the Sarkand district, a remarkable event of ecological, scientific, and historical importance took place — the international scientific-practical conference titled “The Sievers Apple Tree: Current Status and the Importance of Research”, dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Jungar Alatau State National Nature Park.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan, research institutions, both domestic and international scientists, sector veterans, and park employees.

The akim of the Sarkan district, Galymzhan Kanatuly Mamanbayev, delivered a congratulatory speech, emphasizing the park’s significance for the region and extending his warmest wishes to the park’s team.

During the ceremony, several park employees who contributed to the development of the sector were awarded Certificates of Honor and special badges by the Ministry. Veteran staff who have dedicated many years to the park’s growth were also presented with commemorative anniversary medals.

A special tribute was paid to the scientists and experts who were involved in the park’s foundation, marked by a traditional robe ceremony.

The Jungar Alatau is not only known for its stunning natural beauty but also for its invaluable biodiversity — including globally significant species such as the Sievers apple tree.

This anniversary celebration is a heartfelt tribute to all those who tirelessly work to protect nature and preserve it for future generations.
