High in the majestic mountains of the Zhetysu region grows a truly unique tree — the Sievers apple tree, known as the ancestor of all modern apple varieties. Each year, at the end of spring, this rare tree bursts into bloom with delicate white flowers, transforming the mountainous landscape into a fairytale scene.

The breathtaking blossom begins in late April and lasts for only about two weeks. If you want to witness this natural spectacle, don’t wait — it’s a fleeting beauty!

The history of the Sievers apple tree dates back to the 18th century. German explorer Johann Sievers was the first to study wild apple trees in the mountains of Kazakhstan. Later, botanist Mikhail Popov proved that these wild apples are the original source of all cultivated varieties. Academician Nikolai Vavilov declared the Tien Shan Mountains the global homeland of apples.
