Monument “Suyunbai Aronuly”

In the city of Taldykorgan in front of the new sports palace, a monument to the golden trunk of Kazakh Aytys art Suyunbai Aronuly has been erected. The monument is about 10 meters high and is cast from pure bronze, its authors are famous architect Kazbek Zharylgapov and sculptor Merlan Azmagambetov. Suyunbai Aronuly was born in 1815, he is a famous Kazakh poet, art historian of Aytys art. He was born and grew up in Almaty region, Karakistak settlement of Zhambyl district. In 1898 he was buried in the same region. Yekei was born from the tribe of Great zhuz Shapyrashty. According to the annals, great-grandfather was Kusep Dowlesker kobyzist.

His performances with Maylykozha, Tezek Tore, Katagan and Arystanbek testify that he was the best akyn of his time. As a poet of epic cycle, Suyunbai sang various poems of the people in his own way, composing such works as “Manas”, “Korugly”, “Rustem dastan”, “Totynama”. His cyclic poems and poems Suranshy and Sauryk about good heroes represent the immortal legacy of a true epic poet.
