Monument “Bakhtybai Zholbarysuly”

The monument “Baktybay Zholbarysuly” is made of bronze by sculptor Yesken Sergeyebaev, the author of famous monuments to M. Auezov, N. Tlendiev, and is installed on a pedestal of red granite in the park of Karabulak.

Baktybay Zholbarysuly is a Kazakh akyn (bard), zhyrshy (narrator). From a young age, he became famous for his poetic talent. A song contest with Tezek-tore made him famous in Zhetisu. He knew and performed many works of Kazakh heroic epic, composed poems in the spirit of folk epic traditions, and participated in aitys (poetic contests).
