Taldykorgan Kazakh Drama Theater named after Biken Rimova

“Taldykorgan regional Kazakh Drama Theater” was organized in 1975 and on November 4 of the same year for the first time opened the curtain with the tragedy of G. Musrepov “Kozy Korpesh – Bayan Sulu”. The troupe of the theater dir. The Acting Faculty of the Almaty Conservatory (now the Kazakh National Conservatory) under the direction of M. Kambarov (A. Bazargeldiev, A. Isaev, J. R. Lebedev, D. Musabekov, A. Orazbekov, K. Temirbayev, J. Shaikin, etc.) and the Kazakh Academic Drama Theater (now named after Mukhtar Auezov Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater (Kazakh State Academic Drama Theater named after S. Nurgalykov, etc.).

On August 31, 2000, the theater was named after the People’s Artist of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize Biken Rimova.

Among the founders of the theater are the names of the first director Kalmakhan Beysenbiyev and the chief director Muktar Kambarov. On October 31, 2018, a new theater building was opened. The grand opening is timed to coincide with the VII festivals of the Theater of the Peoples of Central Asia “Kazakhstan-the heart of Eurasia”. The new theater building consists of two floors. The total area is 10,538 square meters. A seat in the hall accommodates 510 spectators.
