The mausoleum of Sary Tastanbekkyzy
The mausoleum of Sary Tastanbekkyzy was built by the author M. Mamanbaev, created at the burial site in the Karashoky tract of the former Kapal district for the 115th anniversary of the birth of akyn Sary by order of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The architecture embodies the elements of the Kazakh folk epic. Near the mausoleum there are two marble blocks with inscriptions “Sara Tastambekkyzy 1878-1916” on the second saying of the poetess:
Duniege kelіp, Keter аrkіm қonak
Solardyn bireui men – өmirі sholak
Sarah Tastanbekkyzy (Tastanbekova) (1853-1907) was a master of aitys: her poetic competition with Birzhan-sal Kozhagululy became a classic of the genre, for which Birzhan-sal specially came to Semirechie from Akmola region in 1871. In this aitys, Sarah showed hopelessness, impotence, the bitter fate of a Kazakh woman who never ceases to dream of free love. On the basis of this aitys the composer M. Tulebaev wrote the opera “Birzhan and Sara”. Also known are her aityses with Aset Naimanbayev, Torebay Eskozhauly
