One of the key tourism development projects in the Zhetysu region is the full asphalting of the road from the “Taldykorgan – Ust-Kamenogorsk” highway to Lake Balkhash. The work is planned to be completed by the beginning of the swimming season. In parallel, engineering and utility infrastructure is being developed to ensure a comfortable experience for tourists.

Currently, 80% of the construction work has been completed. The remaining 15 kilometers are undergoing major repairs. For the convenience of tourists, 3 rest areas are also being built along the route and are nearing completion.

Major work is also underway in the coastal zone. The first stage involved installing 35 kV power lines and fully assembling an intermediate substation with a 110-to-35 kV transformer. Additionally, 48 kilometers of water supply and sewage systems have been installed. The goal is to finish the power line construction and supply electricity to the recreational facilities by June 15.

A detailed master plan has been presented for the tourist zone, including over 300 facilities such as resorts, shopping and cultural centers, and service complexes. The project also includes the development of modern public beaches. The implementation of this plan will help transform Lake Balkhash into an attractive and comfortable resort.
