«Taza Kazakhstan» starts with us!
The team of the Zhetysu Tourist Information Center held a large-scale environmental cleanup on August 7 along the shores of Lakes Alakol and Balkhash. The event was part of the nationwide “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative and continued a series of summer cleanups in the Zhetysu region.
The initiative, launched by Zhetysu Region Akim Beibit Isabayev, brought together local residents, holidaymakers, volunteers, and representatives of government agencies. Since the start of the swimming season, similar cleanups have been regularly held on the shores of both Alakol and Balkhash, helping restore the natural beauty of the coastlines.
Participants collected litter left behind by careless visitors, demonstrating that cleanliness is the result of shared responsibility. The event became a vivid example of how each person’s contribution can transform the appearance of an entire region.

“Taza Kazakhstan – Starts with Us” — this very principle inspired the participants. Preserving the unique nature of Zhetysu and passing it on to future generations in its pristine form is a goal that unites all those who care about the ecology of their native land.
